BEYONCÉ RELEASES RENAISSANCE
NEW YORK, July 29, 2022 /NYI/ -- Parkwood Entertainment/Columbia Records -- Beyoncé's seventh studio album will be available worldwide tomorrow, July 29, on all major streaming platforms. Produced by his own label Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records, RENAISSANCE comes six years after the 2016 release of LEMONADE, which was acclaimed worldwide and created a total surprise.
The initiator of the visual album concept, and the visually preeminent artist, decided to do without visuals to give fans the opportunity to enjoy a limitless musical journey. It is an opportunity to become listeners again and not spectators, while enjoying each title of this exceptional production. While "Break My Soul", the first single, was released accompanied by a minimalist lyrical video, the release of RENAISSANCE without visuals is another cultural turnaround on the part of the artist who marked an era by his creativity.
RENAISSANCE has been the most anticipated album of the year since Beyoncé announced the release of this new album on June 15 via an update of her biography on her social networks: "act i RENAISSANCE July 29." She continued this unconventional launch with the release of the album's first single, "Break My Soul", presented at midnight on the day of the summer solstice. This title, with a hectic pace, is extremely addictive and its lyrics encourage listeners to rejoice and let go. The single, which was a worldwide success, has been called the song of the summer and the anthem of the current generation.
With its catchy hymns that speak to the greatest number, RENAISSANCE is a culmination of freedom and escape that encourages unprecedented jubilation, action and spontaneous movement. The primary goal of RENAISSANCE, which reinvents the famous "four on the floor" rhythm, is to present music that makes you vibrate and encourages you to dance. It's a celebration of the disco days when anyone who felt different looked for themselves and formed a community of freedom advocates to express themselves creatively through rhythm, a phenomenon we still celebrate today. Welcome to the RENAISSANCE CLUB.
The magic of RENAISSANCE is also in Beyoncé's soaring vocals, rich, soulful, at times vulnerable and laden with passion and purpose in what could only be described as "SANGING." This voice unfolds on memorable words that are at once bold, warm, imperious and resolutely current.
While the visuals are scheduled for a later date, the album is offered in different formats, giving music fans and collectors spoilt for choice. The music store on Beyoncé's website offers album merchandise and multiple RENAISSANCE setups, including a CD album, a digital album, a limited edition vinyl, launched with a hint of mystery unique to the singer, now out of print, and four box sets, Pose 1 to 4, which include a t-shirt and CD in a special box, also sold out, before fans receive descriptions of the content. The album's flagship single, "Break My Soul", is available in digital, a capella and instrumental versions.
The album is also available in a deluxe vinyl version. It includes two black vinyls, a 36-page booklet and a folded collectible poster (24" x 36"). You can find all the articles here.
Beyoncé recorded the album during the pandemic, for almost three years, and says the quietness of that time allowed her to tap into her most creative self.
"The creation of this album allowed me to dream and escape during a scary time for the world," said Beyoncé. "It made me feel free and adventurous at a time when not much was moving. My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to free yourself from perfectionism and excessive thinking. A place to scream, release pressure, feel freedom. It was a wonderful exploratory journey. »
Surrounded by a team of prolific collaborators, including The-Dream, Nile Rodgers, NOVA, NO ID, Raphael Saadiq, Mike Dean, Honey Dijon, Chris Penny, Luke Solomon, Skrillex, Beam, Big Freedia, Grace Jones and Tems, Beyoncé set out to "reinvent music again," as described by The Times of London.
